Treat. Yo. Self.

In continuing with this month’s theme of love, I wanted to share 5 of my favorite self-care “treats,” that help me feel good - and good about myself!

1. When it doubt, work it out.

It’s true - endorphins make you feel better. There’s nothing better than getting a little exercise in when you aren’t quite feeling yourself. If you don’t have time to head to the gym, or weather forbids an outdoor walk or run - try workout apps! I love Sworkit for quick workouts, and Headspace for meditation. When the weather is nicer, head outdoors and soak up some sunshine (and remember to wear sunscreen)!

2. Invest some time in your hobbies

If you play an instrument, but haven’t played in a while - go play something. Knit, crochet, draw, paint, journal, write, go take pictures, just get out there and do something creative.

3. Treat. Yo. Self.

For me, this looks like a trip to the nail salon, an agenda-less stroll around Target, a fresh bouquet of my favorite flowers, taking a little extra time on my skincare routine, or doing a little online shopping. It could even be something as simple as picking up my favorite sushi. You don’t even need to spend money on yourself for this one, just do something nice for yourself that makes you feel good!

4. Date Yourself

Personally, I’m a big fan of alone time. Maybe it’s the introvert or the only child part of me, but I love having time to just sit with myself, recharge, and maybe even get a little work or reading done. Take yourself out for a cup of coffee or tea, or head to your favorite restaurant and grab a table for one. Turn off all your notifications, and just enjoy some time with yourself.

5. Unplug, curl up, and unwind.

Start by turning your phone off. I don’t mean put it on silent, I really mean off. Put on your coziest loungewear (I’ve been living in these Aerie joggers lately - affiliate link), grab a book or a movie, make yourself a cup of tea in your favorite mug, make a little snack plate, and settle in under your warmest blanket.

Magically,
