bridal party proposals

one of the things I’m most excited for on our wedding day is having some of our closest family and friends standing beside us as we say “I do!”

once we were 100% sure of the wedding party, we didn’t hesitate to come up with a fun way to ask each member to join us! luckily for us, we got engaged shortly after the holidays, and with that being a major engagement season, there were a lot of sales happening, which made it just that much easier for us to find something fun while still staying in our budget!

each woman in my bridal party got a personalized box containing::

  • a sugarfina candy box

    • I knew I wanted to have either candy or champagne in the boxes. candy, specifically sugarfina candy, became the easier option for 2 reasons. - 1. not everyone in my bridal party will be 21 by the wedding day, and I wanted the boxes to be as uniform as possible. 2. some of the boxes would need to be shipped or travel quite a distance, and with the way that the postal service has been lately, I didn’t trust my “fragile” labels to be totally honored. I needed 8 boxes, and sugarfina has an 8 piece bento box, making it easy to select 8 different candy choices (I didn’t make them all different, but did choose specific candies for some of the party)!

  • a mini stoney clover pouch

    • to know me is to know my love of organization and personalized items - and stoney clover is the perfect marriage of the two! since the cozy collection is my all time favorite, and blush is one of the colors we’ll feature in the wedding, the blush cozy mini pouches were the perfect addition for the boxes!

  • olive & june nail polish

    • over the course of the stay-at-home orders last year, when my nail salon was closed, I replaced all of my old polish with O&J! love the quality and how they literally guide you through getting a salon-quality mani at home, so I ordered a polish or each of my girls: OBVI - aka a super sparkly gold, which is one of our wedding colors!

  • a handwritten note

    • i’m truly a sucker for a handwritten note, so asking my girls to be in the wedding with a beautiful “will you be my ____” card, with a note from me on the inside was a no-brainer.

  • fuzzy socks (link is NOT to the socks I got - read on)!

    • so since I ordered these in winter, fuzzy socks were easy to find. the ones I got are no longer on the site, unfortunately, but I still highly recommend J. Crew Factory for fun socks! Don and I have been gifting each other J. Crew Factory socks for holidays/just because since almost the start of our relationship. hence why I won’t link to a different fuzzy socks - these socks are my all time favorites!

  • wedding cake candle

    • of course, had to get a sweet-smelling candle to go in the boxes! i’m personally not a fan of super-sweet, saccharine scented candles, so I wound up ordering two different kinds to try, and decided on this one for the boxes! sweet, but not enough to induce a migraine for me. definitely smells like cake, and really cute in the boxes!

  • champagne toast shower gel

    • now i’ll be honest, I was aiming to get something different in this scent, but it was perpetually sold out. I settled on travel sized shower gels, and figured it’s perfect for anyone resuming the world of travel now that restrictions have been lifted!

  • date card

    • we hadn’t done our save the dates before asking our wedding party to join, so I ordered simple date cards off of etsy to serve as the placeholder. I taped them to the inside of the box with washi tape

  • the boxes themselves!

    • I ordered these custom boxes from weddingfavorites.com. since I had the proposal cards (handwritten notes), I just put their names on the tops of the boxes, and chose the “no card” option. I’d also ordered paper shred from amazon, (I needed a little under 1.5lbs for 8 boxes), so there was no need for me to have that included! they shipped really quickly, and arrived in great condition!

and for my flower girl, I got her a gift bag from target, and inside was:

  • the handwritten card (same as I got for the rest of the party), asking her to be our flower girl

  • flower sunglasses

  • “grl pwr” t-shirt

  • and a cute heart shaped purse that is similar to the pouches! the bag is unfortunately unavailable online, but is similar to this one, just kid-sized!

for his groomsmen, Don got each one a customized whiskey glass gift box - with their last names etched on the outside, glass, and coaster; and “will you be my groomsman?” with our wedding date on the inside!

hopefully this gives you some inspiration if you’re thinking about what to do for your bridesmaids/wedding party! happy planning!
