what i'm loving this week: may 17, 2020
At the end of 2019, I stopped doing my “monthly favorite things.” I’d gone through my tonsillectomy, was busy with work and school, and just generally was in a sort of a rut with the blog. I’d intended on doing quarterly “seasonal favorite things”for 2020, but as we all know, 2020 hasn’t really gone as expected.
Now that I’m finished with school, have a less variable work schedule, and find myself with a bit more time to create thanks to this whole quarantine situation, I’m going to do some “what I’m loving” posts! I can’t promise that they’ll be weekly, but I’m not locking myself into a time frame for them - we’ll see how it goes! It won’t always be products, sometimes it’ll just be a new hobby, focused on a small business I’m loving, a recipe, anything, really, just wanted a place to round up and share the things that I do genuinely love!
In this first post, I’m sharing:
the chair that I got for my vanity (finally) - though I got it in the Ivory color which is currently sold out - but other colors are in stock and on sale!
American Eagle mom shorts - also on sale as of the time I’m writing this post. I got them in my normal size, and they’re definitely true to size! Comfortable, and I can see how these will be go to shorts for almost any outfit this summer. Even if the only places I visit this summer are my backyard and Target’s parking lot for Drive-Up.
fuzzy, criss-cross slippers from Amazon. I’ve purchased 3 pairs of criss-cross flippers since quarantine started, and these are my favorites so far! Really cozy and comfy!
an iced coffee tee from one of my favorite shops, andMorgan. She makes the cutest, softest, screen-printed tees! The pumpkin one I wore last fall was a staple in my fall wardrobe, and a lot of people loved it too! I also have the Christmas tree tee and peach tee from her - all of which I love! Will definitely be adding more to my collection soon.
adorable fluffy mouse keychains from the shop WishUponMagic! I’d been looking for a fluffy keychain with this shape lately, but couldn’t find anything that I really loved, until I saw these. I ordered the pastel rainbow and the teddy brown colors!
a monogrammed mug from shopDisney. I’d been waiting for the “M” to come back in stock, and it came back in this week! Main Street, U.S.A. is truly one of my favorite places in the park, and I’m a sucker for anything with my initials on it, so this was a no-brainer.
glass straws. I love a good reusable straw, but the silicone ones I’ve been using can be a pain to clean sometimes, and I don’t always love metal straws. plus they go great with…
…the bamboo mason jar lids! We got a ton of mason jars for a party about 5 years ago (we pre-scooped ice cream into them and then guests added toppings, it was really fun and cute) - and even though people took the jars home, at the end of the party, we were still left with a tooooon of mason jars! Since then, we’ve been using them as drinking glasses, and we never really looked back. With 5 pets in the house, it’s common for the cups to get bumped or knocked over, and with the wide mouth lids, it’s all too inviting for one of our furry friends to stick their face in there for some water. The lids aren’t totally leakproof, but they discourage my pets from even thinking about trying to steal a sip, or my pesky cat from knocking a mason jar full of water off of my headboard and onto my laptop…again.
last but certainly not least - the summer collection from Olive & June. Or really, any of their polishes! I just recently got my first orders in from them and already have been impressed by the quality. The summer collection is a collaboration with Zeba, which makes it even more amazing! Looking forward to switching up my neutral manicure game with some fun and exciting colors.
